Pool Service Technician

About Us

That Pool Shop is a growing Adelaide based pool servicing business focused on high quality, reliable service and long-term client relationships.

We’re not a franchise or a big corporate. We’re a hands-on, professional team that values practical skills, strong work ethic, and people who take pride in doing a job properly.

We’re looking for a reliable, practical, and self-driven Pool Technician to join our team long term.

About the Role

This is a mobile, residential pool servicing role across Adelaide.

Once trained, you’ll work independently, following a planned daily run and managing your own workload.

A typical day involves:

  • Completing 8–10 jobs per day
  • Cleaning and maintaining residential pools
  • Testing and balancing pool water chemistry
  • Troubleshooting water quality and equipment issues
  • Basic equipment installations and repairs (full training provided)
  • Driving between jobs
  • Recording clear job notes and service details

The work is practical, hands-on, and outdoors.

What This Job Is REALLY Like

During summer, the role is fast-paced and high pressure. You’ll need to:

  • manage a full schedule
  • think on your feet
  • solve problems independently
  • stay organised and efficient

In winter, the pace is steadier, but the standards remain exactly the same.

This role suits someone who:

  • enjoys being busy
  • takes responsibility
  • can manage their own time
  • doesn’t need constant supervision

Hours & Conditions

  • Monday to Friday
  • Typical working hours: around 9am–5pm
  • Start and finish times can vary depending on the day
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Salary range: $60,000 – $90,000 depending on experience and capability

What We’re Looking For

This role suits someone who is:

  • Organised and efficient
  • Mechanically minded and practical
  • A confident problem solver
  • Reliable and honest
  • Comfortable dealing with customers
  • Able to work independently
  • Physically fit and happy working outdoors year-round
  • Calm under pressure
  • Takes pride in quality work

Previous pool experience is NOT required. We will train the right person.

A background in a trade or hands on industry is highly regarded.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to use basic apps and record job notes
  • Willingness to learn and follow systems

What We Provide

  • Company vehicle for work use
  • Fuel and running costs covered during work hours
  • Work phone / device
  • Paid training
  • Stable, year-round employment
  • Clear systems and processes
  • Performance bonuses based on quality and reliability (not speed or sales)

This Role Is NOT For You If…

  • You struggle to handle time pressure
  • You need constant supervision or direction
  • You find it hard to manage a busy daily schedule
  • You avoid responsibility
  • You cut corners when no one is watching
  • You dislike working outdoors
  • You’re looking for an easy or short-term job

Growth Opportunities

For the right person, there are genuine long-term opportunities to:

  • progress into senior technician roles
  • take on additional responsibility
  • grow with the business

We are looking for someone who wants a career, not just a job.
